Our Mission
We are committed to building sustainable, mutually beneficial relationships with our customers, suppliers, associates and the communities we serve.
Our History
In the early 1920's, a group of farmers in the Manning area called upon a fellow farmer, Albert Puck, to be their agent to purchase coal, flour, apples, overshoes, watermelons and the likes. Along with these commodities, there was a need for the ordering of horse-drawn rakes, bale movers, cultivators, and other related farm equipment. As the units arrived in Manning, a facility was needed to store and distribute them. A warehouse was rented from an elevator company on the Milwaukee railroad and merchandise was stored until it was needed.
Later, the Farmer's Union moved to a second location along Madison Street in Manning. In 1930, Willis Puck, the only son of Albert Puck, graduated from Manning High School and soon thereafter joined his father in the Farmer's Union Association. Willis remained active in the family business throughout his lifetime. Puck Implement Company began operation at its present location on Highway 141 in Manning in 1950.
In 1971, Willis partnered with his sons, Warren and Ken. Eventually another generation of Pucks, Steve, Nate, and Drew, joined the company and it continues to operate today under the name "Horizon Equipment." The implement has expanded to operate in its current six locations in Iowa: Adair, Audubon, Avoca, Manning, Missouri Valley, and Woodbine. 2016 marked our 90th year of business.
Through the years, we have seen some changes, but one thing remains the same, and that is our ongoing devotion to our customers. We are committed to providing the highest-quality farm equipment and superior product support. This includes the best parts availability, the most responsive service team and the best product information in the industry.
